Pleasant Valley Depot, A Glimps of Early Progress in Rockingham County, VA

The Pleasant Valley Train Depot was built in 1874 and a reminder of the prosperity that accompanied the valley after the civil war. It is one of various businesses and depots that were built along what is today the shortline, Shenandoah Valley Railroad.[1] The Depot is the last of its type in the region; it retains a distinctive Victorian ornament.[2]

The site is off of Cecil Wampler Road (Rt. 704) between Pleasants Drive (Rt. 898) and Pleasant Valley  Road (Rt. 679).
